38 weeks!!

Are we there yet??!!

38 week bump.

front bump.

What is new this week?
Well, I have been having lots of contractions. Last week we were dilated to 1.5 and 50% effaced but at my 38 week appt he said everything was looking good so we didn't need to check dilation/effacement. Sooo I have to wait until Tuesday to find out where we are. But i feel a heck of a lot closer! 12 days to go! {til the due date anyway}

How big is the baby?
Im not really sure. The doctor hasn't said if he is big or little but according to the baby apps around 19 inches long and about 7 lbs. Give or take. I don't feel like he is too big though.

Weight Gain:
13 lbs more than my starting weight. But 28 lbs after the weight loss at the beginning of the pregnancy.

Maternity Clothes?
Yes yes yes. And Coltons clothes.

Sleep?
It's getting much worse. Contractions are starting to keep me up and my hips hurt so bad every night from the pressure.

Best Moment of the Week?
We went to Heber for Thanksgiving last weekend and went black friday shopping, to see the lights at temple square, and the PBR was in town for the weekend. We had a blast. I literally thought I was going to go into labor in Target while black friday shopping though lol. But the contractions stopped once I got home.

Food Cravings/Aversions:
Macaroni and Cheese.

Movement:
Of course.

What I miss?
Just not hurting. I miss being able to bend over and get stuff without it being a huge ordeal.

What I'm Looking forward to?
Having this little man get here!

Surprise.

Colt went to the store for me to get me some Tums because I was out and I can't live without them anymore.

He came home with this. {and the tums}

I so don't need this but have been wanting red velvet cake forever. I guess I'll only be pregnant for 3 more weeks, might as well enjoy it. ;) Thanks Colt!!!

Baby Daddy Survey

Saw this survey on Carissa's blog. We are bored at home tonight and decided it would be fun to do. So thanks for posting Carissa, but we are stealing your survey and doing it too! :)

Baby Daddy Survey

Was the pregnancy planned?
Yes and no.

What was your reaction when you found out you were going to be a father?
Ecstatic... no stoked.

When is the due date?
December 12th 2012.

When do you hope the baby will be born?
On or just before the due date.

Have you gone to the doctor appointments?
The ones that I have been able to.

Have you had any pregnancy symptoms?
Sympathy weight.

Have you gained weight?
Yep.

What has been the hardest part of the pregnancy thus far?
My wifes moods...

What has been your favorite part of the pregnancy thus far?
... {Colton is having a really hard time finding something positive to say... this is getting him in some trouble.}
Knowing that I get to be a dad.

What sex did you think the baby was going to be?
I thought he was going to be a boy.

Are you happy with the gender?
Yes!

Have you felt the baby move?
Yeah, a lot!

Do you talk to the baby?
Yes, more than I talk to Jessa... {apparently he thinks he is funny...}

Have you been to any birthing classes?
Birthing classes are for new dads.
{We are really on a roll tonight aren't we?}

Have you read any pregnancy books?
I breezed through one...

Will you be in the room when your baby is born?
If I'm not at the NFR.

Will you cut the umbilical cord?
Can I use my Kershaw knife?!
{This survey is not going how I thought it was going to at all...}

How will you help with the baby after he/she is born?
Anything I can help with during the day... and no diapers.
{k- seriously?}

What are you most looking forward to doing with him/her?
Doing boy stuff. Son/dad stuff... shooting, fishing, rodeos... stuff like that.

Do you feel you are ready to be a father?
Of course.

Okay so obviously this survey didn't quite go how I was thinking it would but I guess I have to remember who I married. He pretends that he doesn't want to do stuff but secretly we both know I won't be able to keep him from helping. I sometimes worry I'll even get to hold him as much because I know Colton wants him here so bad. ;)
32 more days!!

35 weeks!!

35 Weeks

What is new this week?
We have moved back to UTAH!! Colton got the job in Washington City that we were here interviewing for a couple weeks ago and we are loving it! St. George weather is so nice and I am so excited to finally know that I don't have to move ever again!! We love our new doctor... {our fourth one by the way} and Colton loves his job so things are just great!!

How big is the baby?
well... i have 2 baby apps that don't agree with each other. One says he is 18 inches and 5.25 lbs. The other says 21 inches and 6.5 lbs. Sooo somewhere in there :)

Weight Gain:
9 lbs from my original starting weight but with the "sick" weight loss... 24 lbs.

Maternity Clothes?
Yup. Still a mixture of regular and maternity but yes!

Sleep?
Very interrupted still of course. Lots of bathroom breaks. But I am sleeping better than I was so it's been nice.

Best Moment of the Week?
I set up Tag's swing/bouncer, car seat and stroller and then I went through and organized all of his clothes. It has made me soooo excited. Sheesh these 5 weeks need to hurry!!

Food Cravings/Aversions:
Craving- Cran-grape juice with crushed ice. And Root Beer. It's weird. But I don't really have any aversions I don't think.

Movement:
Uh huh. But he has gotten so big that it just hurts all the time. He is sooo strong.

What I miss?
Laying on my stomach. Having more options of things to wear... it's hard to dress the bump.

What I'm Looking forward to?
Him being here... and Thanksgiving. I will be 37 weeks so we are planning on still being able to go to Heber and being with both of our families. We will wait and see but it would be nice. :)

Utah Trip Part Two.

K- I totally sucked at taking pictures this trip. I told myself I would be better, but I wasn't. Oh well.

We had an awesome trip though!
We got to watch Carson play a football game, which they rocked by the way.
Drank hot chocolate on a cold fall night.
Had a fire with friends and enjoyed all the fall colors.

I finally got my hair done... woohoo!!
And my baby shower went perfectly!!

Headed to the baby shower!

I am mostly bummed I don't have more pictures from my shower but when you're visiting its hard to remember to take pictures. But I do have a couple. Colton wasn't going to stay for the shower but all of my cousins were so excited that he was finally in Utah, he ended up getting suckered in to staying and playing with a bunch of rowdy kids the full 3 hours. He loves it though, he loves those kids and they totally love him right back.

I loved being able to spend some time with Aspen and Felix too! He is getting so big! It makes me sad but it's so fun at the same time.
Buster really liked Felix lol.

One of my favorite things about the trip is we finally got to bring Tuf back to Texas. With all of our moving around the past two months, he has been staying with Colt's family. His poor mom is a saint to take care of him. She is so good to us. I don't know what we would do without her. Tuf is having fun here though and was so good on the 24 hour car ride home.

Now I am just trying to get everything caught up and cleaned from the trip. I have laundry like crazy and so much to put away. Unpacking is the worst for me. But we are getting it done. It's hard coming back here after such a fun trip and being with everyone. It definitely makes us grateful for our families and friends. But we are settling back in and finally getting things ready for Tag!! :)

31 week update.

31 Weeks

What is new this week?
We are on vacation in Utah. We are getting to enjoy fall for a couple days, visit friends and family and have my baby shower!! It'll be almost 60 hours driving this week so that sucks, but it's totally worth it!

How big is the baby? According to our baby app he is between about 18 inches and approx 4.4 lbs.

Weight Gain: Well because I was sick at the beginning and lost weight I am now 4 pounds more than when I started the pregnancy...

Maternity Clothes?
Definitely. Still wear some normal tops and I have a couple pairs on pants that I can squeeze into that aren't maternity but I am definitely transitioning into full-time maternity wear.

Sleep?
Very interrupted. I have been getting leg cramps that kill! So that wakes me up, and bathroom trips of course.

Best Moment of the Week?
Definitely being in Utah and getting to visit our friends and family.

Food Cravings/Aversions:
Still milk but now its chocolate milk. But it has be with hershey syrup. I know, super healthy right? But it's the only kind that tastes good right now and I crave it like crazy. I did throw up on Sunday morning before we started our road trip but I ate a tangerine with chocolate milk. Colton just laughed at me... like, "Really Jessa, what did you expect to happen with that combination?" LOL it just sounded good!

Movement:
All the time, and its getting very painful. Last night was the first night that he actually woke me up because he was hurting me so bad just wiggling. But I am grateful that he is. 9 more weeks.

What I miss?
Just being comfortable and uninterrupted sleep.

What I'm Looking forward to?
My baby shower tomorrow and finally getting to get all of our baby stuff together and set up.

Utah Trip Part One

Colt and I got lucky and are able to make a trip home for a couple days.
I am so excited.
We were able to stop and stay a night in Page, Arizona at my best friend Carissa's house on our way home. I wish I would have taken pictures but I totally forgot. Carissa is due two days after me so it was really fun to be together and compare pregnant stories. Her 3 year old daughter Addi is hilarious. She was so excited for company. I think it made Colton want a girl even more.
Before bed Carissa told Addi to say goodnight. She came to me and said goodnight. I said goodnight and she looked at me and said no I'm not talking to you. Then she looked at my belly and says, "Goodnight baby Tag. I hope you have a good slumber party in your mom Jessa's belly." It was so funny!

I have tried to take pictures but haven't been as good as I like. We are in St. George right now. We are heading to Heber today. I can't wait to...

-See our dog Tuf and bring him back to Texas.
-See Trent, Aspen, and little Felix. FaceTime isn't cutting it. I need real time!
-Watch Colton's brother Carson play a football game. He has wanted us to watch all year so we glad we will be home to see him play.
-See friends and family of course.
-FALL COLORS. Texas has none.
-Cooler weather, it'll be a nice break from the heat!
-Hot Chocolate from the One Stop. {a tradition for Colton and I}
-I finally get to get my hair done! I've been scared to go to someone new in San Antonio. It's in desperate need.
-MY BABY SHOWER.

I will be better with pictures {hopefully} but these are a few from our trip so far.

Fuelin up for the drive. He's cute.

Taking a little break in Arizona.

Stretchin our legs... driving 28 hours at 31 weeks pregnant isn't the best for my back or tailbone!!

We got lucky driving with General Conference sessions. It made the 13 hours we drove on Sunday go a lot quicker! I loved the morning session especially. Amazing talks.
