Lost my phone.

We went to dinner for Colton's birthday last week.
My phone went with us, but sadly didn't return with us.

I am so bummed to have lost So many pictures because my Dropbox was full.

It's made me realize I have to be better at blogging too.
So here's trying...

tonaquint park

we love tonaquint park.
Tag has so much fun chasing the ducks and throwing them bread... although tonight he ate as much as he threw. ;)

Buds.

Dad has his protein after the gym.
Tag has to do the same.

This is a daily occurrence.

Big boy bed!

For real this time...

I have such mixed emotions about Tag sleeping in his own bed.
He slept with us the first year.
Colt was over it after a week.
I loved it.

I tried putting Tag in his own crib a couple times but it only lasted an hour at best.
Even when he was fine,  I would wake up panicking that he would suffocate or something and I would bring him next to me so I could sleep.

Well, we are going on vacation for a week in march. Part of me didn't want to go just because I didnt want to break Tag {or myself really} of this habit. He also still nurses about twice a day. I just thought it would be too hard and I didnt want to lose the closeness that I have with him. I love that he has so much dependency on me.
But I was being selfish. He is 14 months now. He needs to be more independent.
I think I was doing everything for me more than for him.

So, on February 13th I put Tag in his crib in his own room. It took about 10 minutes of crying and our two favorite lullabies... then he slept 12 hours straight.

Night two. He cried for 3 minutes then slept 10 hours.

Night three. No crying. Straight to sleep.

SUCCESS!

The hardest part was his little booby lip. Honestly his face was like, "I'm trying to be a big boy but why are you leaving me?!" He didnt get up and try to get put of bed. He just lasted there under his blanky, holding his horse and bear... with crocodile tears. Broke my heart but I knew I had to be strong... and im so glad I did.

I am lucky to have Tag. He is such a champ.

Now, every nap and bedtime is so smooth and so nice. For both of us.

I still miss him when I get in to bed at night but I know this is so much better for both of us.

New tradition.

Washington City does a tree lighting ceremony every year.
The local elementary students come sing, they have hot chocolate and donuts, sleigh rides to santa, and they have a countdown to the lighting of the tree.
Last year, I was days away from delivering Tag. This year Tag is walking around... loving every second of it.

When you are a kid these things are so cool. Then you go through a stage where they aren't that cool anymore. I love having Tag around to make all of these things so much fun again.
He brings me more joy than I ever could have imagined.

Thank you baby boy.

Zion

We went to zion national park a couple weeks ago with a bunch of friends in the neighborhood.

I hiked into the narrows.
It was much colder than we thought it would be.

I came prepared... tags hat, coat,  even gloves but it was so warm that I left them in the car. Rookie mistake. It was freezing. But we know for next time.
