adjusting.

Colt and I finally officially booked the temple and set a date. We are getting married January 7th in the Salt Lake Temple. We are so excited.
Colton started school yesterday at Northwest Lineman College in Idaho. He loves it! It has been a huge adjustment having him so far away. But I am keeping busy too. I got a new job in Lehi, Utah at Stonehaven Dental. I work til about 7:30 at night so by the time I'm off I can skype Colt and get ready for bed. I am moving to Lehi this week. Lots of packing but it's been so good to be busy.
In over two years we have been apart a very small amount so its hard. But we have skype dates every night and it has helped so much! We have made it a goal to fly out and see each other AT LEAST every other weekend.

skype dates :)
Even though the distance is hard, we know once he is done with school in December it will have been worth all the time apart. We will get married three weeks after he gets home and we can finally start our lives together.

summer 'date' nights.

Colton and I go on dates pretty dang often.
But in the summer, this is what the majority of them consist of.

Loadin' hay... with tuf, of course. He hates to be left out.

Riding the tractor with my sexy fiance.

Yeah I love him. Alot.

From dinner and movies in Provo, to haulin' hay and dairy keen dates... I feel pretty dang lucky. Wouldn't want it any other way.

we're engaged!

Colton called me and asked me if I wanted to go flying with Jess and Lindsey {colt's brother-in-law and sister} last night. Jess has his pilots license and we have gone up before so I didnt think too much of it. I worked until 6 so when I got off work I called Colt so we could go. Unfortunately the wind was blowing too hard so we couldnt go up. Colton was really frustrated about it but I kept telling him it wasnt a big deal and we could go a different day. I didnt understand why he was so upset about it.
So he took me to dinner. After dinner we went back to his house and he handed me this book.

He told me it was his little sisters book so I didnt really think much of it. It's one of the books that you can record yourself reading and when you turn the page it reads whats there. So I open it and Colt's voice starts reading to me. I loved it but he kept telling me it would get funny so i wouldn't suspect anything. I was waiting for it but it just kept getting sweeter and sweeter. The last page looks like this.

His voice reads it to me then says "Jessa, this book doesnt even close to describing how much I love you. I want to spend forever with you. So Jessa, Will you marry me?"
I looked over and I had gotten on one knee and proposed. I don't think it was a shocker to anyone I said yes and the rest is history.
Oh! He told me why he was so upset about the plane though! I guess he had it all planned out. Will you marry me was going to be written in one of his fields and we were going to fly over and then he would propose to me. Then it all made sense why he was so bummed about not going up. But his proposal was perfect, and the ring is gorgeous!

We havent set a date yet. Colton will be done with power lineman school in December so we will probably get married the beginning of next year, once school is done and the holidays have settled down. We are excited and I feel pretty dang lucky to say the least.
